Welcome to episode 125 with William Buist

William is a business mentor who has been working with small business owners for over 20 years to help them build better businesses. He believes that the key to building a successful business is intentional mastery, which is a journey of constant learning and improvement.

William has identified five stages to the journey of intentional mastery: explore, hone, practice, expert, and mastery.

Each stage builds on the previous one, with mastery being the ultimate goal.

What does he believe mastery is?

William emphasizes that mastery is a process and that it takes time and effort to get there.

He also stresses the importance of finding the right tools and systems to support your business but acknowledges that there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

In addition to business strategies, William believes that it’s important to focus on the individual, including the business owner and the people in the business, and to prioritize self-care. We discuss the challenges that business owners face and the importance of seeking help and support when needed.

Overall, the conversation highlights the importance of continuous learning and improvement in building a successful and fulfilling business.

William explained that he provides a mixture of coaching and consulting services as a business mentor to help people uncover what they already know and provide guidance on areas where they may need further development. Finally, the podcast touched on the loneliness that can come with managing a business and the learning curve involved in handling teams, managing change, and making sure everyone excels.
