Ever since coming up for my divorce in 2005 I have experienced a disturbed sleep pattern, often resulting in a lack of sleep for 5 out of 7 nights. Gradually as I became happier I sorted the problem and soothed myself back in to a better pattern of only losing sleep 3 out of 7 nights which I thought was fairly normal. None the less I was surprised to find myself putting it down as a symptom or problem when I had a Nutritional overhaul with the help of Adele Wolstenhulme (take a look at www.sue-firth.com for more details about her).

The form was really easy to fill out but very in-depth and very valuable as it gave her an instant checklist with which to work out what I was short of. She then follows that with a face to face consultation or can do it over the phone which is why she has clients all over the world. The whole thing costs £150.00 which is a good price for sorting many symptoms you probably never even realised could be relieved this way.

It turned out that Magnesium is depleted during times of stress so many of us are short, if not chronically short, of it for a lot of the time. She prescribed a powder called Ultra Muscleze (£25.00 plus p & p), available from me if you e-mail me as Adele buys it for me. It has a high dose of Magnesium in it so please be aware that this is a short term aid and doesn’t replace a proper consultation.

You take a teaspoon in water or juice about 20 minutes before going to bed and it soothes the adrenals which take a pounding through our somewhat stressful or hectic schedules in day to day life. I was astonished and slept like a baby with no hangover effects from a shop bought sleep aid or a ‘draggy’ feeling as if you could lie down and I’d go back to sleep again. I felt rested, well and refreshed – that’s how sleep should be!
