Welcome to Episode 189 of the Executive Edge – the podcast for skills in life and business.
This week it’s just me on the show, and those of you who are regular listeners to the podcast will know that I actually enjoy doing this from time to time. That’s because I often spot a topic that fascinates me or that I feel I know something about, but I want to explore it further.
And in this case, it’s the subject of success.
So what’s the show all about?
I’m not sure if you’ve ever stopped and had a chance to think about what you feel success is, but in my experience it seems to mean different things to different people.
We’re all very different but executives and senior people often drive their lives very hard: they’re very focused, they’re very driven, they’re goal-oriented and of course this by definition or by default therefore creates a lot of activity.
So on the show I discuss the idea of what success means to us and whether it’s fair to say achievement and productivity are measures of success.
I also discuss the KPIs for success and what we use to measure success.
I also consider the impact of our search for success on our working and personal relationships.
Fundamentally, however, I explain how I believe that everyone can be successful and how shifting our mindset about success impacts the way we live our lives (and work!).
